or the past sixteen years I've worked as a Firefighter Paramedic.I have received several Unit Citation Awards, as well as being named Firefighter of the year in 2006 for a second story window rescue.
In March of 2008 I suffered a career ending injury while operating at the scene of a chimney fire. After several surgeries and numerous procedures,I will not be able to return to Firefighting.
Although I am deeply saddened by this tragic event , I believe God has a master plan for every one . Everthing that happens, happens to fufill this plan.perhaps this was just God's way of telling me my work as Firefighter on this earth is done.
I do however carry with me the many memories and experiences that most people can only dream of having. I know what it is like to hold the hand of some one that has taken their last breath, as well as what it is like to deliver a brand new life. I carry with me the joy of saving some who's time was not up, and the anguish of losing some who's time it should not have been .I know what its like to truely put my life in someone else's hands, and have their life in mine. I know true fear, and I know true fearlessness. I know true friendship, and the real meaning of "brotherhood"
As a Painter I will continue to honor those in the Fire Service, as I owe the fire service so much. These experiences are the reason I am the person I am today. I share these experiences with you for a good reason. A little part of me goes into every piece that I create. You, as a potential buyer of my work, have a right as any consumer to know the "ingredients" of your purchase.I only hope that my work as a painter will do justice to those I portray, and allow you to see the beauty and wonder of life, as I see it every day.Thank you for your intrest in my work.
